Good chemistry makes good paintings. There is an emotional chemistry, or rapport, which develops between subject and artist. Good paintings capture tremendous energy as a painter grows involved with her vision and chooses details for the final image. Her thoughts and actions are recorded as the paint solidifies.

I really love paint, especially oil paint. I like the colors, the textures, the smells, and the density of the stuff. I love to paint, to mix just the right values, to push gobs of it around the canvas in thick strokes, and to make transparent glazes with just a whisper of color.

In the end, the chemistry of paint is important, too. Craftsmanship, the integrity of the physical process as well as the artistic process, is a key component of my work. I use the finest materials with a considerable understanding of their properties to assure a quality product which will provide pleasure and inspiration for a long time.
